Continental Harbour Scene, Oil Painting, Cecil Rochfort D'Oyly John

Oil Painting, Style of D’Oyly John

A stunning oil painting of a continental harbour scene, painted very much in the style of Cecil Rochfort D’Oyly John, so much so, could it be one of his???? The painting shows many colourful local fishing boats in the harbour and also showing a continental style town in the back ground. The painting is not signed or dated, but is a stunning, quality oil painting and good value at this price. See Payment Options                                             (D)081111        Click on image to enlarge

John Lewis Oil Painting

John Lewis Oil Painting 19th Century

The Close of Day, Worcestershire Meadows, a very nice early 19th century oil painting by John Lewis.  An English rural scene of a church and shepherds with their sheep in the back ground. This scene has striking similarities to a painting by Benjamin Williams Leader 1836-1923 which he painted in 1900. In fact the two paintings are very nearly identical yet painted 50 to 80 years apart by the two different artists.  Benjamin Williams Leader’s The Close of Day, Worcestershire Meadows, his version of this painting sold at Sotheby’s auction in December 2009 for £32,450.  (C)151011  (Not Available)

John Varley, Oil Painting

A John Varley Landscape oil painting of a view of the shore on Loch Lomond with people on the shore and the mountains beyond, thought to have been painted around 1795 to 1820. Painted on a panel, the size of the painting is 170ml. h.  x    275ml. w. and overall frame size is,  290ml. h.   x   395ml. w.  This is a small rare John Varley oil painting, approx. 200 years old painted in his usual professional style and characteristics. The painting would benefit from a slight clean and reframing. More photo’s are available by email, if interested please enquire via email or telephone: Colchester Fine Art,      (YY+M)050811
