Balls Park, Hertfordshire

Fine copper engraved estate view of Balls Park, Hertfordshire by John Drapentier, published in Sir Henry Chauncy’s Historical Antiquities of the County of Hertford published in 1700… A rarely available item with later hand colouring added… This is thought to be an original from early 1700, but could be a later 1780′s – 1810 work…..  The map is in fine condition but showing age related marks and fading which would be expected of an item 200 + years old, but look at photos to tell… It comes framed and glazed in a nice condition but not new frame which may have scuffs or marks…

“The Piping Herdsman” and his Dancing Dog. A wonderful 18th century engraved mezzotint by Richard Earlom after a Claude Lorrain drawing from “Liber Veritatis”, published by John Boydell. Dated 1775. No.90 …. A view inside the Court of the Priests in Solomon’s Temple with the manner of the preparing and offering of sacrifices according to the Vision of the Prophet Ezekiel. This is a Hand Coloured Engraving having fine impression with early hand colouring and a full margin. Thought to have been printed for Robert Sayer at The Golden Buck opposite Fetter Lane, Fleet Street. circa 1760.
