James McBey, Etching Drypoint, Ovation to the Matador

Ovation to the Matador by James McBey

James McBey 1883-1959, This stunning pencil signed print of The Matador receiving a standing ovation is one of the many scenes James McBey witnessed on his many travels and one that inspired him to create some of the many master pieces in art that he produced during his life time. This small but beautiful print is one of those master pieces which oozes quality and traps the reallity of the moment.  The print is in good clean condition although show signs of age toning and has a brown line under the edge of mount, it looks like it has been trimmed at some time previous to fit this old mount and has been stuck at the top only, to a backing board, generally this is a nice little print of  Ovation to the Matador by James McBey and appears to be rarely seen on the market.   Size of printed area: 150ml.  w.  x  230ml. h. approx. (click on picture to enlarge image)   Please see payment options.          (Z.)200612
