Fred Slocombe, Horse and Cart in Country Lane
A fine 19th century etching signed by Frederick Slocombe showing a horse and cart being led along a country lane through a wooded area. Frederick Albert Slocombe b. 1847 came from a family of etchers and artists well known in the late 1800′s and early 1900′s. Frederick Slocombe was also a highly successful painter of landscape and rustic genre, exhibiting widely at The Royal Academy and elsewhere for over 50 years. His signed etchings are rare and desirable amongst collectors. This is a fine example of his work and is in very good condition, it comes mounted and framed in a period style ebonised frame which measures; 575ml. w. x 750ml. h., the size of the print area is; 330ml. w. x 470ml. h.
