Francois Flameng Engraving, Girl With Apple
Francois Flameng (1856-1923) was a very successful French painter during the last quarter of the 19th century and the first quarter of the 2oth century and became a Professor at the Academy of Fine Arts. This very fine line engraving shows a young girl holding an apple and was engraved around 1885-1895. Set on card/thick paper and in old mount the engraving is in fine condition with age toning and shows one small mark at the top running through the magin and slightly into the picture, however this doesn’t distract from the beauty of this wonderful engraving which is approx. 125 years old.
